Athlete: Christian Parr
Prescribed Workout: 1k (3:00) + 400 (56) + 200 (26) w/4min, 5min and 3 min recovery, respectively.
This was one of the harder workouts I gave Christian last spring, when he was prepping for a quick 800m at PTF. Christian is a rare athlete who actually doesn’t have great endurance or speed, yet can run a respectable 800m. Our goal that spring was to really work on both is top end speed and his aerobic capabilities, while only getting specific for the 800m, very late.
This workout was done three weeks out from PTF. The point was to touch on specificity, but also work slightly over and under pace too.
